Question to the Department for International Development:
To ask the Secretary of State for International Development, what arrangements are in place to assess the usefulness and effectiveness of the projects her Department sponsors; and what criteria are used in that assessment.
Each DFID project fits within the strategic priorities for the Department. Project business cases are rigorously appraised before approval to establish value for money using criteria appropriate for that project and context. During implementation, projects are measured and formally scored annually against a robust monitoring framework to make sure they continue to be effective. Project documentation, including annual reviews, is published on DFID’s Development Tracker.
