While the UK remains a member of the European Union, the EU must continue to honour the rights and legal obligations of UK nationals resident in the EU, under EU Treaties.

The government has been clear that we want to reach a reciprocal agreement for EU citizens in the UK and UK nationals in the EU as quickly as possible.
