Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether the £1.5 billion borrowing facility available to English Mayors from 2028 will be available annually or over the course of a multi-year spending period.

Government has allocated a total of £1.5 billion in financial transactions to set up the devolved borrowing facility for Mayoral Strategic Authorities, which will be available from 2028. The total quantum is scored across 28/29-31/32 – the profile for this is set out in table 6.2 on page 109 of the Budget document which can be found here.
