Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many staff (a) left and (b) were recruited by the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust in 2021; and what assessment he has made of the potential effect of delays in the Hospitals Transformation Programme on levels of recruitment in that hospital trust.

The following table shows the headcount number of joiners and leavers in the year to 31 December 2021 in Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, excluding doctors in training.

No specific assessment has been made of the impact of the Hospital Transformation Programme (HTP) on the recruitment of staff. However, the HTP’s new clinical model will enable Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust to attract prospective staff and retain the current workforce.
