In September, alongside Jordan and Qatar, the UK co-hosted a meeting of senior government ministers at the UN General Assembly focused on humanitarian access and healthcare in Gaza. Following the meeting, the UK joined international partners to issue a Call to Action, calling on the Government of Israel to allow and facilitate rapid and unimpeded humanitarian access throughout Gaza and restore the medical referral pathway to hospitals in East Jerusalem and the West Bank for those with illnesses and injuries that cannot be adequately treated in Gaza.

In 2025, a cross-Government taskforce, in partnership with the World Health Organization, supported 50 critically ill and injured children to leave Gaza and receive specialist treatment in NHS hospitals across the UK. The UK intends to continue this effort for a further set of critically ill and injured children as stated in the Written Ministerial Statement of 24 June 2026.
