Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, when the Government plans to introduce a conviction check process to prevent corrupt bidders from winning public contracts.

The UK committed at the Anti-Corruption Summit held on 12 May 2016 to introduce a conviction check process to prevent corrupt bidders with relevant convictions from winning public contracts. Work is underway to embed the conviction check mechanism and we will make a further announcement in due course.
