Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what information his Department holds on the terms of the Riyadh Agreement reached between members of the Gulf Cooperation Council in November 2014; and what assessment he has made of compliance by the Government of Qatar with the terms of that agreement (a) before and (b) after 5 June 2017.
As a partner of the UK in the fight against terrorism, Qatar needs to build on the steps they have already taken to tackle funding to extremist groups.
We will study all evidence very closely, and encourage Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt to disclose any evidence to the relevant authorities.
Any demands made on the Qataris must be measured and realistic.
