Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, on what date she plans to respond to the recommendation of the Police Pay Review Body for 2017-18.

The Government has great respect for the unique and vital role that police officers play in fighting crime and protecting the public and it is important that they are appropriately remunerated. That is why we created the independent Police Remuneration Review Body to make annual recommendations on the appropriate level of pay and allowances.

We are considering very carefully the latest recommendations of the Police Remuneration Review Body and the Senior Salaries Review Body and will publish our decision in due course.
