The Government has set an ambition of 600,000 heat pump installations per year by 2028 and is taking forward a range of measures to support it. This includes funding installations through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (with an increased grant of £7,500) and through our ‘Help to Heat’ capital schemes.

The Government is also introducing regulatory measures, such as the Clean Heat Market Mechanism and the Future Homes Standard, investing up to £60 million in the Heat Pump Ready innovation programme to help overcome barriers to heat pump deployment and supporting training for installers through the £5m Heat Training Grant.
