Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will urge the government of Iran to apply without discrimination Article 58 of the Islamic Penal Code to permit Kamal Foroughi's early release.

Any legal representations would be for Mr Foroughi’s legal team to consider and pursue within Iran. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has told the British Embassy in Tehran that Mr Foroughi’s lawyers would be welcome to have contact with the Iranian Judicial authorities.
