Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, What steps she has taken to implement the recommendations of the report of HM Inspectorate of Constabulary into crime recording in the Cheshire Police force, published on 15 June 2017; and if she will make a statement.

It is vital that recorded crime statistics are as accurate as possible and that victims and the general public can have confidence in the police.

When HMIC make force specific recommendations following an inspection, the relevant Chief Constable and Police and Crime Commissioner should ensure they take the required steps to improve crime recording accuracy and the service to victims of crime.
