Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what recent assessment he has made of the potential merits of introducing a new alcohol strategy.

There are no current plans to do so. There are existing measures to address the harms caused by alcohol and support the most vulnerable at risk from misuse, including establishing specialist alcohol care teams in hospitals.
