During this difficult time for our country, we recognise the extreme disruption the necessary actions are having on people’s lives, their business, their jobs and the nation’s economy. This includes many scientific researchers and the vital work they do in supporting public health and the UK’s vibrant R&D ecosystem.

The Government’s strategy is to reduce the infection rate, ease pressure on the NHS and save lives. The First Secretary announced on April 16 that the measures would remain in place for at least the next three weeks.
