On 11 July NHS England set out its provisional investment decisions for specialised services, the results of its annual process, based on expect clinical advice, for deciding which new treatments and services it will make available to patients.

Everolimus for subependymal giant cell astrocytoma associated with tuberous sclerosis complex was one of four proposals with the lowest cost/benefit priority. The policy will be considered again next year in the relative prioritisation process for 2017/18.
