In total, since the inception of the Safer Streets Fund in 2020, £2,907,062 has been awarded to eight projects within the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner’s area across four rounds of the Fund. This includes projects in Birmingham, Solihull, Sandwell, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton, which have been targeted at preventing and reducing neighbourhood crime, violence against women and girls and anti-social behaviour.

This funding has been used on a variety of interventions including fixed and deployable CCTV, street lighting, implementing a safe place scheme and an education and communication campaign aimed at helping to tackle violence against women and girls.
