Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 17 May 2022 to Question 662, if she will make an estimate of the cost of fraud against (a) individuals and (b) businesses in (i) 1984, (ii) 1994, (iii) 2004, and (iv) 2014.

We do not hold figures for the estimated total cost of fraud against individuals and businesses for 1984, 1994, 2004, and 2014.We do have the published estimate for the 2015/16 total cost of fraud against individuals: £4.7 billion. This figure can be found at:
