Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, pursuant to the Answer of 25 June 2015 to Question 3414, what estimate her Department has made of projected expenditure on (a) Contracts for Difference and (b) Renewables Obligation since (i) publication of Table 2 in Annex A of the Annual Energy Statement in November 2014, and (ii) the Round One allocation in February 2015.

The Levy Control Framework (LCF) controls the support the Government can provide to the development of low carbon electricity. The Renewables Obligation and Contracts for Difference are two low-carbon generation support schemes which are included in the LCF. The cost of the LCF is kept under constant review - we update our modelling and assumptions as things change, reflecting the challenges in making long-term forecasts in a changing and very active energy market.

Since the publication of the Annual Energy Statement in November, the results of the first CfD auction round have been announced and are available at:
