Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many entry clearance officers were employed by her Department in Mumbai on 1 June (a) 2010 and (b) 2015.

Local management information shows that on 1 June 2010, there were a total of 31 Entry Clearance Officers employed in Mumbai. 18 of these staff were employed on a long-term basis and 13 were employed as seasonal relief to process increased volumes of applications in the peak period for Western Indian visa applications to the UK. On 1 June 2015 local management information shows that there were a total of 24 Entry Clearance Officers employed in Mumbai. 15 of these staff were employed on a long-term basis and 9 were employed as seasonal relief to process increased volumes of applications in the peak period for Western Indian visa applications to the UK.
