Blood: Contamination

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many people have been infected by contaminated blood following a blood transfusion in each of the last five years.

The following table sets out the number of incidents resulting in a transfusion-transmitted infection (TTI) and the number of recipients affected in each of the calendar years 2010 – 2014:
