Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many maintained nursery schools there were in (a) 2010 and (b) the most recent year for which figures are available.

Table 2a of “Schools, Pupils and Their Characteristics January 2017” sets out the number of maintained nursery schools in each year from 2003 to 2017. 2017 is the most recent period for which figures are available:
