Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what estimate her Department has made of the number of children who are at risk of experiencing hunger during school summer holidays in 2017.

The department has made no assessment of the number of children who are at risk of experiencing hunger during school summer holidays in 2017. Local authorities are required by the Child Poverty Act to assess the needs of children in poverty in their area and to produce strategies to tackle the issues identified.
