In September 2015, it was announced that the UK will provide at least £5.8bn of climate finance in the period 2016-17 to 2020-21. The UK is firmly committed, alongside other developed countries, to jointly mobilise $100bn of public and private finance a year by 2020, in the context of meaningful mitigation and transparency of action. Any further commitments at the 2017 UN climate negotiations, will be made in due course.
