Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment his Department has made of the potential merits of abolishing the blood alcohol content test when a person has been arrested for suspected drink driving.

The Department is of the view that it is still necessary to maintain the current blood testing regime to cater for those circumstances where a breath test is not possible.
