Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, if his Department will make an assessment of the potential effect on the economy of reductions in the rate of VAT.
This question was answered on 3rd November 2016
Although HM Treasury keeps all taxes under review, there are no plans for potential reductions in the rate of VAT.
