Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, pursuant to the Answer of 13 October 2016 to Question 47261, on housing benefit: hostels, whether the new funding model will ensure that the social sector continues to be funded at current levels in real terms.

In his Written Ministerial Statement to the House of Commons on 15^th September the Secretary of State confirmed that the new funding model will ensure that the supported housing sector, including hostels, will be funded at current levels, taking into account the effect of Government policy on social sector rents. The Secretary of State also announced that a formal consultation would be published shortly.
