Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment she has made of the potential merits of abolishing the cap on NHS doctors’ pensions.

There is no cap on doctors’ pensions. Pension saving is tax free up to the annual and lifetime allowances. ‘Our plan for patients’ announced flexibilities for doctor's pensions to encourage retention within the profession.
