Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what discussions the Government has had with its counterparts in the Myanmar Government on the arrest of Vicky Bowman, the UK's former ambassador to Myanmar, and her husband.

We are supporting Ms Bowman through our consular channels. Officials at the British Embassy in Yangon have been in contact with the local authorities to maintain consular access and to check on her welfare. We are monitoring Ms Bowman's situation closely and will continue to support her, and her family, until the case is resolved.
