Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what estimate she has made of the (a) financial contribution made by research institutions to the apprenticeship levy and (b) number of research apprenticeships currently available.

The Department has not estimated the contribution made by research institutions to the apprenticeship levy, but estimates of levy payments by sector are published at:

The following apprenticeship standards are currently ready for delivery in the Science and Research area - science manufacturing technician, science industry maintenance technician, and laboratory scientist.
