Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what assessment he has made of the effect on NHS inflation of recent changes in the currency exchange rate.

The vast majority of income and costs of National Health Service budgets are denominated in pounds sterling. There are a number of reasons for changes in NHS costs, and, as ever, specifically identifying the impact of exchange rate changes is not routinely undertaken.
