Energy supply companies must ensure that all domestic customers are on the cheapest tariff that is in line with their preferences: that is in relation to their chosen payment method and whether they prefer a fixed term or variable tariff.

Eligible vulnerable consumers, including cancer patients on Pension Credit Guarantee Credit or other means tested benefits, can receive help with energy bills through the Warm Home Discount.
