The NHS Leadership Academy aims to develop outstanding leadership at all levels and in all disciplines across the National Health Service. In April 2016 the Academy became part of Health Education England and it is now developing a new approach which will support the development of senior, but also mid-level leaders, across the system.

This new approach will ensure consistency and quality in leadership development for aspiring directors and above, supported by effective talent management which will support local health economies to develop their own inclusive and representative talent management processes and communities of practice.

The NHS Leadership Academy will also continue to design and deliver high quality programmes that support the identification and development of those aspiring to director-level roles and at every level.
