Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many people have left the employment of immigration centres in Scotland in each year since 2006; and for what reasons those people have left that employment.

Dungavel is the only immigration removal centre in Scotland. This question has been interpreted as relating to both Home Office and service provider staff. Information on the number of staff leaving the Home Office and service providers’ employment since 2006 is not held centrally. The reasons for leaving could only be provided by examination of individual records at disproportionate cost. Information on the amount of money spent on Home Office and service providers’ staff training and training provided to detainees since 2006 is not held centrally. Information is held in relation to incidents. There were no reported incidents for Home Office staff. The table below relates to health and safety incidents involving service provider staff. Major incidents are those that are reportable to the Health and Safety Executive. Management information is only available from 2009 in the following table.
