Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how much Health Education England has spent on funding training places in each year since 2009; and how many of those training places were provided in the (a) Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, (b) Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust and (c) Humber NHS Foundation Trust.
Health Education England (HEE) was established in June 2012 as a special health authority and took on its operational functions from April 2013. The table below shows the amount spent annually by HEE on funding training places for pre-registration students from 2013/14 to 2015/16. This includes expenditure on tuition, clinical placements and salary support.
