Prince of Wales: Income Tax

Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, if he will bring forward legislative proposals to subject to income tax the income HRH The Prince of Wales receives from the Duchy of Cornwall.

The Duchy of Cornwall is covered by Crown exemption. Since 1993, the Prince of Wales has voluntarily paid tax on income from the Duchy. The 2013 Memorandum of Understanding on Royal Taxation gives further details and is available on GOV.UK.
