Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what estimate she has made of the (a) number and (b) type of animal furs and skins which were imported for sale in each of the last five years; and if she will make a statement.

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is not able to specify the number / reason for the import i.e. onward sale or further processing etc. but can supply type and weight:

Raw furskins (including heads, tails, paws and other pieces or cuttings, suitable for furriers' use)
