Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will make it his policy to establish a national screening programme for endometriosis.
National population screening programmes are implemented in the National Health Service on the advice of the United Kingdom National Screening Committee (UK NSC), which makes independent, evidence-based recommendations to Ministers. The UK NSC has not assessed the evidence to screen for endometriosis and there are no current plans to do so. However, the UK NSC’s annual call for new screening topics is open until 6 December 2021.
