Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many appeals from Afghan nationals who have had their asylum claims refused are (a) outstanding and (b) have had their hearings adjourned at her Department's request.

The information that would allow this question to be answered accurately is not held centrally. Adjournments are a Judicial decision. The Respondent sought an adjournment on a limited number of Afghan asylum appeals where the individual circumstances of the claim were significantly affected and whilst guidance was being amended.
