The European Communities Act will be repealed on the day we leave the European Union – meaning that the authority of EU law in Britain will end. We will convert the body of existing EU law into domestic law and Parliament will be free to amend, repeal and improve any law it chooses.

This process will give businesses and workers maximum certainty as we leave the European Union. And we are absolutely clear: existing workers’ legal rights will continue to be guaranteed in law.

The maritime sector is, of course, being considered as part of the Government’s work developing an overall approach to negotiations.
