Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, under what circumstances a railway franchise has been withdrawn from a poorly performing operator; and if he will make a statement.
This question was answered on 11th January 2017
The National Express East Coast franchise was withdrawn by the Department on the basis of failure to deliver its franchise obligations.
