Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what assessment has been made of recent trends in the level of food poverty in the UK; and if he will make a statement.
The Government measures poverty using information from the Household Below Average Income Survey. The survey from 2014/15 shows that:
o 100,000 fewer children in relative poverty;
o 200,000 fewer children in absolute poverty.
