Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment his Department has made of the potential merits of the Online Safety Bill being amended to compel all user-to-user services, regardless of reach and functionality, to tackle suicide and self-harm content that is legal but harmful to both children and adults.

We have not made a formal assessment. The Department of Health and Social Care continues to work with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on the contents of the Online Safety Bill and encourage online platforms to take voluntary action to address harmful content online, including suicide and self-harm content.
