Question to the Cabinet Office:
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, how many EU nationals are estimated to be (a) living and (b) working in the UK.
This question was answered on 9th January 2017
The information requested falls within the responsibility of the UK Statistics Authority. I have asked the Authority to reply.
On leaving the EU our intention is to create an immigration system that allows us to control the numbers of people coming from Europe in the future. But that does not mean closing the door to the brightest and the best and welcoming them to our country.
