Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether he has had discussions with the Office for Students on the potential merits of designating a new quality body.
This question was answered on 18th October 2022
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education has confirmed that it wishes to step down from the Designated Quality Body role at the end of March 2023. My right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Education will receive advice on future arrangements from officials and the Office for Students (OfS).
The OfS will engage with the sector ahead of any final decision being made and will issue further information to providers in due course.
