Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department is taking to recruit more GPs in England.
NHS England and NHS Improvement and Health Education England are working with the profession to increase the general practice workforce in England. We are increasing the number of general practitioner training places to 4,000 in 2021-22 to boost recruitment. In 2020, 3,793 doctors accepted a training place against a target of 3,500.
