Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent assessment he has made of the impact of (a) domestic and (b) international emissions trading schemes on the (i) coastal and (ii) short sea ferry sector.

The UK Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) Authority will publish a second consultation on the expansion of the UK ETS to domestic maritime in 2024. We welcome any evidence in response to this consultation and will publish a full analysis of the policies impact in the government's response.
