Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many and what proportion of households in receipt of out-of-work benefits who were (a) covered and (b) not covered by the household benefit cap moved into work between April 2013 and August 2016.

The information requested is not readily available and to provide it would incur disproportionate cost.

We publish official statistics on the number and proportion of households that have previously had their Housing Benefit capped and have moved into work. The latest available figures as at August 2016 are published here:

Please note, not all households that have had their Housing Benefit capped are in receipt of an out-of-work benefit.
