To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent discussions he has had with the Bahrain government on the imprisonment of Nabeel Rajab.

The UK government is concerned by the decision to uphold Nabeel Rajab’s conviction. I raised this case at Ministerial level during my visit to Bahrain in June. We will continue to make clear to the Government of Bahrain that the legitimate exercise of freedom of expression must be respected.
