Lord Carter’s Report ‘Operational productivity and performance in English NHS acute hospitals’ recognised the need for making improvements in procurement within the National Health Service.

The Department is already working on initiatives that include the new NHS Supply Chain delivery model, the ‘Model Hospital’, Procurement Price Index tools and ‘Scan4Safety’, enabling improved patient safety, clinical productivity and supply chain efficiency.
