Question to the Department for International Development:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Development, what steps her Department is taking to ensure that maximum value for money is delivered by cash transfer schemes overseas.

The recent ICAI report on DFID’s cash transfer programmes found good achievement on alleviating poverty and vulnerability for the poorest households. DFID is currently considering how best to respond to the recommendations in the ICAI report, and will publish a response on 9^th February.
