Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, how much his Department has spent on large capital projects in each of the last six years; and if he will make a statement.

The Department’s capital expenditure on projects within the Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) in each of the last 6 years is set out in the table below. The figures for 2016/17 are forecast figures. The annual totals are broken down between Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the two former departments which merged in 2016 to create BEIS.
